Reports from the initiative to explore collaborative working across the strategic futures community in the public sector

These reports described below were written as part of a project originally commissioned by the Government’s Horizon Scanning Centre, to support the work undertaken as part of the Futures Analysts Network (FAN Club). They are based on work conducted by Informing Choices Ltd and access to the reports is provided courtesy of the Foresight Horizon Scanning Centre.

Interim Assessment of Collaborative Working Practice in Futures Work - Part of an inquiry for the Future Analysts Network and the Horizon Scanning Centre.
 
This report provides a snapshot of the collaborative working experience in futures work of Future's Analysts Network (FAN Club) members, taken between December 2008 and January 2009. The Inquiry Interviews conducted in this phase represent one part of a project to explore collaborative working practice in futures work across the FAN Club.

Validation of the findings of an inquiry into Collaborative Working Practice in Futures Work - Part of an inquiry for the Future Analysts Network and the Horizon Scanning Centre.

This report represents the final component of an initiative to explore the collaborative working practice of FAN Club members in futures work. The final phase of the work has been designed to validate or challenge the feedback so far received from FAN Club members and my own assumptions and conclusions formed through the process.

Regional Policy Collaboration Project: Considering the issue of an ageing population through a collaborative futures approachLooking at the issue of ageing, this project is an experiment in collaborative futures work for the Foresight Horizon Scanning Centre’s Futures Analysts Network.

As well as describing the context, project goals, project process, and the process to build collaboration, the report calls significantly on the feedback provided by the participants as well as the ageing content explored by the team. Ultimately, the report seeks to inform choice about engaging in collaborative futures work and offers some specific choices to those who have been involved in this work.
